Reflections on 12th Ramadhan

It's been some time since i posted here, hasn't it?

I've been busy to say the least; with projects at work and stuff. And now, with the obligations of Ramadhan, I can hardly find time to really sit down and put my thought down on screen.

- Terawih is good exercise after stuffing yourself at Break Fast hee.. -

My life revolves around 4 pillars of happiness: Family, Her, Work and Friends. In that order. The former, they come and go so let's not waste time.
[I know that sounded self-centred and harsh but its a fact of life]

The top three on the list make my world go round. Without either one, life means nothing.

- You are so far away.. I hope you're safe and comfy, and will be for the next couple of days.. -

But you might ask. Why not Career first? Well, for me it IS a priority BUT not something i'd die for. There are other more important things/people to take care of.

The purpose of me working in this lifetime is to support my family, give them a better life and also to enjoy endless forevers with HER. Although once in a while, some sacrifices have to be made but still, nothing can take the place of my family and my Baby at the top of my list.

When i was younger, WAY younger, i thought my friends were everything. We practically watched each other grow up. They were there when i played wrote my 1st song on the guitar and were there too when i smoked my 1st stick. From the skipping of classes, to the 1st puff, to the endless cycling trips, to the countless and limitless coffeeshop-bonding sessions, to the mindless jamming sessions. I practically surrounded myself with my friends and i admit, i neglected my family quite a bit.

- The Break Fast gathering was cool.. And karaoke was, as usual, great fun but a waste of money :( -

But of course every story has to have a turning point, for better or for worse. For me, the turning point came when everybody went their separate ways in pursuit of their dreams. Well, i did too. Some furthered their studies, others went chasing after that dream job, to buy the dream bike, to get the dream girl.. The list goes on. Even gatherings and 'lepak'-ings are a rarity now.

Me? I was more contented in sitting back and letting it all happen for me. It wasn't as if i didn't put in any effort but luckily for me, certain things just kept falling into place. And here i am now. With a stable job, a God-sent angel from Heaven in the form of my Baby, and an awesome backing of my family in whatever i do. I am so grateful to Allah The Almighty for all that he has given me.

- Work and work. You'll never get rich. But you can afford to survive. And the richest people are those who don't have debts to worry about -

However, i am quite the sentimental sort and i find it hard, sometimes to chuck aside old, fond memories. [And i'm not talking about old wounds; they heal and disappear] But, i've learned that in life, you can't have everything all at the same time. Certain things are meant to come and go. Others are meant to stay. You've got to be happy with what you have.

- I miss the After-Subuh phone calls, YOU keeping me awake during the day, breaking fast with YOU, desserts after that, the late goodnights.. Come back soon ok..? -

And i've never been happier.
